South India Vacations
This is a twenty-three days long tour package which make you to understand, enjoy and experience the real charm of South India completely. During your south India vacation tour you can opt for a Guide, if required. You will be visting important temples and monuments at South India Vacations.
Day 01 Saturday: Arrival in Chennai – Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram)
On your arrival at Chennai airport/ railway station you will be received by our representative. We will then drive to Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram) which is situated 65 kms from Chennai and it will take less than 1.5 hours to reach there. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a beach resort in Mahabalipuram.
Day 02 Sunday: Mahabalipuram - Dakshinachitra
Next day after breakfast we will start for Dakshinachitra which is little far from Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram). Dakshinachitra is a place where you can learn about the traditions, folk performing arts, crafts, architecture and other things about South India. Till evening we enjoy the scenic beauty of Mahabalipuram and then return to our beach resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03 Monday: Mahabalipuram
Day third of our South India vacations tour will be dedicated to the sightseeing in Mahabalipuram. This place has a huge historical, religious and architectural importance. This day we are going to visit famous Shore Temple, Arjuna Penance, Panch Rathas and some Mandapams. Enjoy the romantic sunset view and some water sports on the beach. At night, we will be back to our beachside resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04 Tuesday: Mahabalipuram – Puducherry (Pondicherry)
After Mahabalipuram our next halt will be Pondicherry. Pondicherry is about 90 km from this place and it will be a 2.5 hrs drive to reach this destinaton. Aurobindo Ashram is the place that we are first going to visit in Pondicherry. We will also visit Raj Niwas and of course the pristine Pondicherry beaches. Dinner and overnight stay will be at beachside resort in Pondicherry.
Day 05 Wednesday: Pondicherry - Thanjavur
On Wednesday we will head for Thanjavur which is 210 Kms ahead of Pondicherry. Enroute visit The world heritage site Gangaikonda Cholapuram is also in the list of the places we are going to visit this day. In Thanjavur we are going to visit the world famous and 1000 years old Brahadeeswarar Temple or the Big Temple. We will also visit Kamatchi Amman Temple, Aanjeneyar Temple.
Day 06 Thursday: Tanjore- Trichy
Next day we will start for Trichy after breakfast. The distance between these two places is mere 65 Km. Trichy has a large number of temples, churches and other tourist spots. In Trichy (Tiruchirapally) we are going to visit the famous Lord Vishnu dedicated Sriranganathaswami Temple.
Day 07 Friday: Trichy
On the seventh day of our trip we will do a little more sightseeing in Trichy. This day we will visit the monolithic Rock fort Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. We will also visit Amma Mandapam before retiring back to our hotel where we will have our sumptuous dinner and will stay for the night.
Day 08 Saturday: Trichy – Madurai
After Trichy our next halt will be Madurai which is situated 130 km from Trichy. Madurai is a beautiful city and is known for the renowned Meenakshi Temple . Along with Meenakshi Temple we are going to visit Azhagar Kovil, Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam and Thirupparamkundram.
Day 09 Sunday: Madurai – Periyar
Our next destination after Madurai is Periyar. It is a protected area which is located at a distance of 150 Kms from Madurai. We will visit Spice Garden, Periyar wild Life sanctuary and will also enjoy Boat ride in the lake. There are chances that you can see a good number of animals and birds near the lake. Our overnight stay will be at the hotel in Periyar
Day 10 Monday: Periyar – Munnar
From Periyar our next stop will be a very amazing hill stations in South India viz. Munnar. The distance between these two places is just 110 Kms. The lovely hill station is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in South India. The beautiful tea gardens, exotic flora and fauna and soothing climate of this place beckon domestic and international tourists. Visit Mattupetty dam, Eravikulam National park and Tea Museum. Our overnight stay will be in a tourist lodge at Munnar hill station.
Day 11 Tuesday: Munnar – Kochi
After Munnar we will head towards Kochi. The port town is 135 Km from Munnar and it will be a 3.5 hrs long drive for the city. After lunch we will stroll near the sea port and watch amazing and bit weird looking Chinese Fishing Nets. These huge fishing nets are found only in Kochi and China. Overnight stay will be at a resort in Kochi.
Day 12 Wednesday: Kochi
Wednesday will be dedicated completely to the sightseeing of Kochi. We will visit Santa Cruz Basilica, St Francis Church, Vasco House, Dutch Palace, Bolghatty Palace and Willington Island during twelfth day our South India vacations tour. overnight stay at hotel at Cochin.
Day 13 Thursday: Kochi - Cheruthuruthy
Early morning after breakfast we will stroll near Fort Kochi beach and will do a bit more sightseeing and then we will head towards Cheruthuruthy which is 190 Kms away from Cochin. It is a riverside village that has got fame because of a unique training school "Kalamandalam". This campus is dedicated to the training of Kathakali, Mohininatyam, Koodiyattam and other traditional dance forms of Kerala, overnight stay at Cheruthuruthy
Day 14 Friday: Cheruthuruthy – Kozhikode (Calicut)
On the day fourteenth we will start for Kozhikode which is 150 Kms away from Cheruthuruthy. This is the third largest city of Kerala and is famous for its marvelous natural beauty. This place is also known as "City of Spices". At evening, we will walk into the markets. Textile stuff is really good here which you can purchase at cost effective rates, overnight stay at Calicut
Day 15 Saturday: Kozhikode
On Saturday we will explore the attractions of Kozhikode. We will visit Kozhikode Beach and enjoy the warm sun bath on the beach. We will also view Dolphin's Point which is popular for Dolphin's population. Thikkoti Lighthouse will be our next attraction to visit. overnight stay at Calicut
Day 16 Sunday: Wayanad
Wayanad will be our next halt after Kozhikode. This place is located at a distance of 90 kms from Kozhikode and we can reach there in less than 2.5 hours by driving through road. Wayanad is also called Green Paradise of Kerala. The beautiful hill station is located amidst the rolling mountains of Western Ghats. This day we will enjoy bamboo boat ride and enjoy the panoramic beauty of the place. We will also visit Thirunelly Temple, Puliyar Mala Jain Temple and Valliyoorkav Temple, overnight stay at Wayanad
Day 17 Monday: Wayanad – Mysore
On the day seventeen we will visit Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary which is rich in biodiversity. Bison, tiger, cheetah, elephant, bear, Loori, mongoose and many more wild species are residents of this Sanctuary, later drive to Mysore which is 180 Kms away from Wayanad, Our overnight stay will be at a hotels in Mysore.
Day 18 Tuesday: Mysore
We will start exploration of the city and its famous palaces from the morning itself. Mysore is the second biggest city of Karnataka and is rich in cultural heritage. We will see Mysore Palace, Brindavan Garden, Chamundi Hills, Jagmohan Palace and Lalitha Mahal Palace this day.
Day 19 Wednesday: Mysore – Bengaluru (Bangalore)
Next day we will do a bit more sightseeing and will visit Mysore Zoo and Jayalakshmivilas Mansion. After lunch we will head for Bangalore. The distance between Mysore and Bangalore is about 140 km and it will take less than 3.5 hours to reach there. Dinner and stay will be at hotel at Bangalore.
Day 20 Thursday: Bangalore
Bangalore is a booming IT Hub and has a rich cultural heritage. The day will be dedicated to sightseeing of Bangalore's attractions. We will visit Bangalore Palace, Lalbagh, Cubbon park, will also visit ISKCON temple, overnight stay at Bangalore
Day 21 Friday: Bangalore – Tiruvannamalai
We will start for Tiruvannamalai. It is located at a distance of 200 Km or at a 5 hours drive. We are going to visit the famous Tiruvannamalai Shri Annamalaiyar Temple which is one of the Shiva dedicated PanchaBhoot Stahalams. This temple represents the element Fire. Our overnight stay will be at hotel in Tiruvannamalai.
Day 22 Saturday: Tiruvannamalai- Chennai
Proceed to Chennai which is 200 Kms away from Tiruvanmalai, on arrival check in at hotel and relax, Dinner and stay will be at hotels in Chennai
Day 23 Sunday: Chennai Departure
Visit St. George Fort, Museum, Parthasarathy temple & will be transferred to Chennai Airport & you will board in for your next destination for home.
